Bulgarian Prime Minister, Boyko Borisov, has ordered the abolition of all protocol expenses of the government’s administration.

By abolishing an order of his predecessor, Sergey Stanishe, Borisov has slashed all expenditures for protocol during visits of formal guests and delegations.

The government press service has announced that the protocol expenses of the Council of Ministers had been about BGN 7 000 per month – spent mostly for flowers and food.

This money will be saved as all government officials, including the Prime Minister, will not be entitled to protocol money. The officials will have to pay with their own money for any protocol expenditures they want to make.
