A federal judge has sentenced a 29-year-old Bulgarian to more than four years in prison for conspiring to steal bank debit card numbers and passwords with a skimming device, My Fox Atlanta reported.

U.S. District Judge Willis B. Hunt Jr. sentenced Yordan Kavaklov on Thursday.

Acting U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said that at the time of their arrest, Kavaklov and his co-defendant had 80 gift cards that had been altered to include customer account information and were using them to drain the customers' accounts.

Kavaklov plead guilty in July to conspiracy, access device fraud and aggravated identity theft. His co-defendant, 23-year-old Nikolay Nikolov, also of Bulgaria, has pleaded guilty and is scheduled to be sentenced on September 30.

The two were arrested after reports they were making multiple withdrawals in Marietta.
