A second Bulgarian man is headed to federal prison for stealing customer information from Bank of America Corp. ATMs in Atlanta, local media reported.

Nikolay Nikolov, 24, will serve more than four and a half years on multiple felony charges for conspiring to steal the debit-card numbers and passwords of more than 200 account holders. He also must pay USD 64,876 in restitution.

He was convicted July 30 after pleading guilty to conspiracy, access device fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

His co-defendant, Yordan Kavaklov, 29, also of Bulgaria, was sentenced Sept. 10 to four and a half years and ordered to pay USD 64,876 in restitution.

The men connected an electronic skimming device to ATMs to steal the information.

The device would electronically record a customer’s debit-card number and a small camera would record the ATM keyboard as the customer entered his password. That allowed them access to account information that could be used to make withdrawals.

The defendants will be handed over to immigration authorities for deportation following their prison time.
