Italy Name Squad for Bulgaria World Cup Qualifier

Italy have named their squad to play Bulgaria in the crucial World Cup qualifier in Turin on September 9, including Fiorentina winger Marco Marchionni for the first time in three years.

Bulgaria play Montenegro in Sofia on September 5 before traveling to Italy, both of which they must win if they are to reach South Africa 2010. Italy are currently 6 points ahead, while the Republic of Ireland are 5 points in front of Bulgaria, who have a game in hand.

Marchionni, who switched from Juventus during the close season, picked up his last of three caps in a 1-1 draw with Lithaunia in Euro 2008 qualifying in Sept. 2006.

Otherwise coach Marcello Lippi, has resisted making major changes for the home meeting with Bulgaria.
