Bulgarian composer Mitko Shterev claimed back in the 1990s that Jacko's hit "Blood on the Dance Floor" was stolen from him.

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, who passed away Thursday night, allegedly stole one of his great hits from a Bulgarian composer in the 1990s.

In the late 1990s, the renown Bulgarian composer Mitko Shterev alerted the Bulgarian media that Jacko's hit, "Blood on the Dance Floor", was probably stolen from a song he had written earlier.

Shterev, who is one of the most famous Bulgarian composers, and author of many top Bulgarian songs and movie soundtracks, claimed that eight of a total of thirteen tones of the chorus of "Blood on the Dance Floor" were exactly the same the tones of his own song.

Despite his public statements, Shterev's claim was never really proven, and never had any legal consequences.
