Manuela Gorsova, who was left in a coma after a fatal car crash caused by world ice-skating champion Maxim Staviski in August 2007, arrived back in Bulgaria late Wednesday on a flight from Israel, BGNES news agency reported.

Gorsova was transferred to the Bulgarian Military Medical Academy (MMA) in Sofia on arrival, where she is set to receive ongoing medical treatment.

According to friends and family of Gorsova the time she spent in Israel has hugely improved her condition. Even though her father, Krasimir Gorsov, added that "she still can't talk at all or feed her self easily."

Gorsova arrived back after a 10 month stay in Israel. Her Israeli doctors were very happy with her progress and stated earlier that they believe she will be almost fully recovered within 4 years, adding that time at home will improve her condition. They concluded that she may never remember a period of up to three years before the crash.
