Palm Sunday in Bulgaria: A Fusion of Faith, Folklore, and Floral Celebrations

Palm Sunday (or Tsvetnitsa), one of Bulgaria’s most cherished spring holidays, is observed on April 13 (Sunday) this year. This day, blending Christian symbolism, pagan customs, and Bulgarian traditions, holds significant cultural meaning.

Palm Sunday is celebrated on the Sunday preceding Easter, marking the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, where crowds greeted him with palm branches and the exclamation "Hosanna!".
