Update 04.09.2024: Within 48 hours, authorities identified a technical officer at the Bulgarian consulate in Dubai as the suspect behind a staged break-in intended to steal funds, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs initiating an ongoing investigation while the consulate maintains normal operations.

According to the Ministry, the intrusion took place outside of working hours at the Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Dubai, UAE.
