Tensions have been running since the beginning of the plenary session and over the parliamentary agenda today.

After a scandal in the plenary hall, the deputies went on short break after the BSP MPs occupied the rostrum.

They were protesting against the decision of the Speaker of Parliament to block voting on the recalculation of pensions.

The Parliament Speaker Iva Miteva intervened and stopped the session for 15 minutes and convened a conference of parliamentary party leaders at the request of Democratic Bulgaria.

The deputies decided to oblige the Council of Ministers to appear in parliament. The proposal was made by Georgi Svilenski from Socialist Party.

116 MPs voted for it, 64 against, 23 abstained, with which it was adopted, and then re-voted at the request of GERB and adopted again.

"I ask the resigned Council of Ministers to be notified of the decision of the National Assembly," stated Speaker Iva Miteva.

Stoyan Mirchev from the BSP inquired what will be done in practical terms after that decision to force the Council of Ministers to come and answer questions.

"I think I announced that the Council of Ministers should be notified," Miteva replied.
