Tomorrow we will adopt the Recovery and Sustainability Plan and send it to the European Commission, stated Boyko Borissov during a meeting with the reps of tourism industry, streamlined on his personal Facebook profile. The outgoing prime minister reminded that he expected his political opponents to propose other plans, but that did not happen.
"The plan is not a Bible. It can then be corrected, it can be rewritten - these are flexible documents and they are subject to daily negotiationswith the European Commission", Borissov said.
On April 9, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev announced that he would not submit the National Plan for Recovery and Sustainability for adoption by the government but would let the next Council of Ministers do it. He said that during a roundtable on the future of the country, organized by the coalition For Green Restart.
The Deputy Prime Minister also said that there would be no need to revise the document because the deadline for submitting it to the European Commission is the end of April.
A day ago, Tomislav Donchev stressed that the plan is an important financial instrument, but it is one of many as a resource, BGN 12.6 billion is just a quater of the total funds‘ to be received by 2030, added Donchev.
Two-thirds of that BGN 12.6 billion must be negotiated in the first two years, said Donchev. He refuted accusations that there “was only asphalt” mentioned in the plan, saying it wasn‘t true, but pointed out that he thought investment in road infrastructure was not a bad thing.
Donchev regretted that the costs of housing fund renovation in the plan account for only 16 percent of it and added that the inclusion of this topic fully corresponds to the European recommendation for Renovation Wave.
Today, the Parliament's Budget Committee is due to discuss the Draft National Recovery and Sustainability Plan.
