Covid-19 in Bulgaria: 1,759 Newly Infected, 194 Fatalities

In the past 24 hours, 1,759 new carriers of the SARS-CoV-2 virus have been registered in the country, data from the single information portal shows.

Yesterday, 14,023 diagnostic tests were made - 6,602 PCR and 7,421 antigen. Positive are 12.5%.

The active cases were 54,115.

There was a significant decrease in the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19. As of April 27, they were 7,669 - 411 fewer than the previous day. In intensive care units 724 patients are being treated, on April 26 they were 746.

During the day, 10,910 doses of vaccines were given. The total number of people given one dose was 734,150 and with a second dose there are now 169,868 people.

In the past 24 hours, the disease has claimed the lives of 194 people, 4,100 recovered.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, there have been 16,101 deaths in Bulgaria, and 329,043 people have been cured.

The total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection was 399,259, of which 13,086 were medics.

The most are the newly registered in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Stara Zagora.
