Covid-19 in Bulgaria: 2,002 Newly Infected, 100 Fatalities

In the past 24 hours, 2,002 new cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country, data from the single information portal shows.

Yesterday, 14,215 diagnostic tests were carried out - 7,578 PCR and 6,637 antigen, of them 15% are positive.

The number of patients with coronavirus infection admitted for hospital treatment continues to decrease. As of April 22, there were 8,435 hospitalized coronavirus patients, intensive care is provided for 786 of them.

During the day, 19,168 doses of vaccines have been given, and since the beginning of the campaign - 676,501. There are now 143,185 people inoculated with a second dose.

The documented active cases of coronavirus infection are 59,087.

The disease claimed the lives of 100 people, with 3,935 cured.

Since the beginning of the epidemic in Bulgaria, there have been 15,618 deaths, 318,208 people have been rehabilitated.

The total number of confirmed carriers of the virus is now 392,913, of which 12,979 are medics.

The most new cases are registered in Sofia, Plovdiv, Burgas and Varna.
