Disparities in Wages Are Huge in EU – Bulgaria Bottoms Ranking with EUR 442 per Month

 Gross monthly income varies considerably in EU Member States. In 2018, the average labor remuneration ranges from EUR 4,057 per month in Denmark to EUR 442 in Bulgaria, Eurostat reported today, quoted by BTA.

The median is defined as "average": half of employees earn less and the other half make more than the average earnings.

Luxembourg joins Denmark at the top of the table with an average of EUR 3,671 per month. Next up are Sweden (EUR 3,135), Belgium (EUR 3,092), Ireland (EUR 3,021), Finland (EUR 2,958) and Germany (EUR 2,891).

At the bottom of the ranking, besides Bulgaria, are Romania with EUR 700 per month, Hungary with EUR 801 and Lithuania with EUR 809.
