Protests in Bulgaria: New Blockade and Toys in Defense of a Children's Retail Company

The 58th day of the anti-government protests was influenced by the emotion surrounding the inspection at the toy company Hipoland.

Yesterday, the head of the chain of children's stores published an open letter in which he "thanked" the policeman who sprayed his 17-year-old son with "chemical weapons that could cause permanent damage" at the protest in front of the Party House. And today - accidentally or not, the police and the National Revenue Agency broke into the chain's warehouse in Kazichane and shops in the country. The employees of the chain are one of the most active participants in the protests.

At around 7.40 pm, the protesters began to gather on the Triangle of Power, blocking traffic on Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd. The police presence in the area has increased. Yesterday, organizers threatened to restore the tent camps tonight.

The Poison Trio called on citizens to come with toys bought from Hypoland. The organizers themselves had a whole cart with products from the store. The demands of the protesters remain the same - the resignation of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, as well as early elections.
