Guides protest! The industry in Bulgaria is demanding a grant from the state, having been without income for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In a letter to the prime minister, the three professional organizations called for urgent measures to save the sector.

In recent months, 90% of the industry's employees, which number more than 1,400, have not worked due to a lack of tourists. That is why they are preparing a protest on September 1, which will be held simultaneously in three cities - Sofia, Varna and Burgas.

"If we accept that mid-October is the end of our active period, very soon we will make the first year in which we do not work," said Ina Tonina, Association of Guides in Bulgaria.

"Our work is zero, we failed to take advantage of any measures," said Philip Stanimirov, Union of Guides in Bulgaria.
