2 million BGN of the anti-crisis funds, worth a total of BGN 15 million, will be given for the independent artists, responsible for the creation of projects of all genres with the requirement for them to be related to Bulgaria and to be available online. This was said at a briefing by the Minister of Culture Boil Banov.

"The money will be given to freelance artists for individual projects. 3,000 people will present their projects and will receive BGN 4,000 per project. These are small, single projects, and they have basically two key functions. First, to work on bulgarian literature, drama, poetry, novels, all in all to be bulgarian works of art. This is one of the requirement - to work on things related to our country. The second requirement is the project to be presented in online format too so that it can be uploaded to the Ministry of Culture's YouTube channel," he explained.

The funds are part of the BGN 15 million that were approved by the Council of Ministers yesterday as part of the new package of anti-crisis socio-economic measures. Banov pointed out that the measures are satisfactory to all those who work in the complex and unpredictable situation to support Bulgarian culture and artists.

To support private culture organizations in the field of arts will be allocated an additional BGN 1.5 million from the anti-crisis funds, so far BGN 1.5 million have been provided under this program, which makes its total value BGN 3 million.

Boil Banov pointed out that the Socially Engaged Arts Program has so far been funded with BGN 250,000, and now another BGN 500,000 is being added, and the total becomes BGN 750,000.

The "Public" program will be financed with another BGN 500,000.

For the support of the Bulgarian artists through the Culture Fund for co-financing of projects under "Creative Europe" are added another BGN 300,000.

Through the Culture Fund, BGN 700,000 will also go to circus and variety art.

The administrative capacity of the Culture Fund will be increased by about BGN 150,000.

The Minister of Culture explained that the ministry will support with BGN 300,000 the Bulgarian poets and authors, as this money is outside the BGN 15 million voted yesterday at the government session. The money will be donated to the National Literary Museum. /nova.bg
