Bulgaria: 23 Are the Infected with COVID-19 in the Home for the Elderly in Ruse

According to the data of the Regional Health Inspectorate from yesterday to 12.30 today, eight new cases of coronavirus have been found in the Ruse district. All of them are from the city of Ruse, and two of them are from the nursery home "Vazrazhdane" , the district administration announced. 

81-year-old woman who lives in a social institution, as well as a 63-year-old woman working as an occupational therapist there tested positive. Both are in good general condition, as the 81-year-old woman was placed for treatment in the infectious ward of the University Hospital “Kanev” , and the woman from the staff was left under home isolation. Thus, the total number of coronavirus patients from the old people's home became 23, 6 of them from the staff, and the remaining 17 are residents - 9 women and 8 men aged between 70 and 90 years.

The 80-year-old man, who was intubated in the COVID-intensive care unit at “Kanev” University Hospital, has died.

For the last 24 hours, another 67-year-old patient from the city of Ruse died, whose positive result from the PCR test was announced on the 9th of this month. He was not in a good health condition and therefore was admitted for treatment at the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Pneumonia and Phthisiology "Dr. Dimitar Gramatikov - Ruse", but on July 12 he was transferred to the COVID-ward for intensive care at the University Hospital “Kanev”, where he was intubated. / NOVA
