Simona Hadjieva, who graduated from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy several days ago, won a competition in Italy for the design of the world's largest children's center, the Smolyan site Plamak reported.

The 24-year-old Bulgarian will bring a new life to the former ceramics factory on the shores of Lake Maggiore in the town of Laveno-Mombelo, which covers an area of 27,000 square meters.

"The idea was born, looking at all the pictures of the existing factory, and the feeling of it, or rather what is left of it, is about a column of wood, and I see the potential for developing mysterious spaces that incite childlike imagination" , tells the young woman in front of the Smolyan site "Plamak".

There are 402 projects involved. There are 30 finals, 10 honors, 4 gold and 3 main awards. Projects have been evaluated in the cities of the United Kingdom. The project of the Bulgarian woman is ranked first and she receives a prize of 10 000 euro.

"The university gives me the choice and I have chosen to look for something that is international - at the same time it can be a diploma work and a competition that can take place abroad - it is not just a kindergarten, but a kindergarten center also suitable for adults. One family can spend a day or a weekend on the whole territory of the complex, "explained Arch. Simona Hadzhieva before Bulgaria on Air.

She said she had worked on her project for about four, five months. It is oriented to children from 0 to 16 years of age but also to adults.

Simona Hadjieva hopes that her project will be realized as the prize fund of the competition provides. She herself plans a second master's degree abroad.

"I want to see another culture and architecture before I can give everything I've learned to Bulgaria, I really want to go back and fight to improve the environment," the young architect said.
