Another study of food in Bulgaria and in Western Europe shows "double standards" in terms of both quality and price. This was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry.

A total of 106 samples, covering 53 food and beverage from the same brand, offered on the one hand in a retail chain in Bulgaria, and on the other in the same or similar chain of stores in Germany, Austria, Italy and Czech Republic.

The study includes a comparison of labels and external looks in a laboratory, and a comparison of prices.

The study shows that there is a discrepancy in the composition and quality of some products offered on the Bulgarian and other European markets. There are significant discrepancies in milk for young children.

Laboratory tests show higher levels of vegetable fat, including palm oil, in the Bulgarian analogue. A product from Bulgaria does not contain milk whey powder and has a lower content of microelements and vitamins.

Although the Bulgarian analogue can be described as inferior quality, it is offered at a similar price to that in Italy.
