For the sixth consecutive year, people gathered to dance traditional Bulgarian Horo on the central square in the capital of Europe - Brussels.

The event is part of the cultural calendar of the Bulgarian Euro-Presidency and is under the patronage of the President of the European Parliament, Antonio Tajani.

The festival of Bulgarian folklore in Brussels gathered dancers, musicians and singers from the Academy of Music and Dance in Plovdiv, Tarnovo Tsaritsa ensemble from Veliko Tarnovo, as well as kukeri from the village of Rakovski.

The initiative for the great Bulgarian horo is by the MEP Eva Maydell, who took over the tradition of former EU Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva.

"Gathering of at least 1000 people in the central square in Brussels - we have set ourselves this goal, we would like to tell the story about a modern, talented, colorful Bulgaria," said Eva Maydell to Horizon.

The Horo is part of the Balkan Traffic Festival, which is held for the seventh consecutive year in Brussels.

"This is the main event where the values, traditions of the Balkan countries are presented, and they are a major and special guest in their quest to promote Plovdiv as the capital of culture for 2019," added the Bulgarian MEP.
