On May 8, Sofia Municipality undertook the long-awaited reconstruction of Graf Ignatiev Street, Mayor Yordanka Fandakova said. The repair will start from "Alabin" street with the replacement of the plumbing pipes. Tram traffic will be stopped. Buses will carry passengers through Gurko Street. Fandakova warned that there would be dismantling activities related to noise.

"This year we are expecting a heavy and intense construction season with many sites, some of which will be carried out in the next year, the main activities will be in June, July and August, but there will be sites with longer deadlines. There are serious obstacles to the movement, so I ask the citizens of Sofia for understanding and patience, "Fandakova said.

At the end of May, the municipality plans to renovate the underpass at Bulgaria Blvd, which is in a poor condition. After that will start the replacing of the rails at the intersection of "IE Geshov Blvd" and Bulgaria Blvd. For this purpose, the tram traffic will be stopped in July and part of August. This year the municipality wants to repair the section of Bulgaria Blvd. from Geshov Blvd. to Gotse Delchev Blvd., but the public procurement contract has not yet been announced. Within a few weeks it is expected to start a repair on "Filip Kutev" Street, and first "Sofiyska Voda" will have to build a collector.

Since last year, the renovation of "Todor Kableshkov" Blvd., which envisages the completion of the boulevard extension at its crossroads with Tsar Boris III Blvd., continues. This will be from June 1. Just a month later, the transformation of "Montevideo" boulevard into "Ovcha kupel" will continue on the section from Boryana Street to "Nikola Petkov" Blvd. After 15 June it is expected to begin reforestation of "Christopher Columbus" Blvd. This year, reconstruction should also take place at "Vasil Levski" Blvd. in the Rector's office next to "Popa". Fandakova promised that the movement in the plot would be only narrow but not completely closed.
