Since the beginning of the year, the number of unemployed registered in the Labor Offices has decreased by more than 15 000 and in March they are 221 600. Compared to February, the registered unemployed are by 9011 people less and compared to a year earlier - with 40 171. This was announced by the press center of the Employment Agency.

The data of the Agency's administrative statistics show a steady downward trend in unemployment, and in March the registered level in the country continues to decrease and reaches 6.8%. One of the usual factors for this is seasonal employment. The comparison with the previous month shows a decrease of 0.3% and the annual parallel shows a significant decrease of 1.2%.

Newly registered unemployed in the month are 21,741, with this group taking part of 24%, people over 50 - 27%, self-identified as Roma are 13% and people with disabilities - nearly 5%. As a result of the activity of the employment intermediaries, over 5500 unemployed are activated to use the services provided by the Employment Agency. Month-on-month earlier, it has been an increase of over 50% for those who are inactive, reaching 1304.

The number of unemployed in the primary market in March was 19,814 - more than 25% more than in the previous month. In this group, about 10% are long-term unemployed, and over 25% are people with basic and lower education. The higher number of jobs started is due to subsidized employment, the institution notes. In March, they are a total of 2492, a year earlier, there is a double increase in those involved in active policy initiatives.

In addition to the unemployed, the services provided at the labor offices are also targeted at employees, students and retirees. 273 persons from these groups have been employed through the Labor Offices during the month, with pensioners accounting for 70%.

Announced job vacancies from the real economy in March were 23,131, according to the Employment Agency data, and the comparison a month earlier showed a substantial growth of nearly 45% in labor force demand. The data speaks of a marked recovery in the labor market, with traditionally over 80% of the places being advertised by the private sector. The largest number of jobs in the hospitality and restaurant sector is 5449 or 23% of those declared; Manufacturing - 4746 or 20% of the applications; trade - 3692 or 16% of the respondents, is added in the message.
