The French national railway company announced today that there will be a strike of its employees today and tomorrow (April 3 and 4), which will make it difficult for passengers to travel to Europe and across the country, Darik reported.

The announcement states that only 15% of the high-speed trains and 25% of the slower will travel during the protest. There will also be one of three trains between France and Germany and 75% of the Eurostar trains between Paris and London. Talis trains between France, Belgium and the Netherlands will run on schedule.

These are part of the actions of four unions that have urged railroad employees to strike two days a week until the end of June. The strikes are against the French government's plan that some workers' benefits are taken away and the national railway company restructured.
