Deputy Minister of Sport of Greece, George Vassiliadis, said that the local Super League will be suspended, reports bgnes.

This decision was made because of the actions of PAOK President Ivan Savidis, who invaded the field with a pistol during the derby with AEK yesterday.

"We decided to suspend the league," Vasiliadis said after a few-hour meeting with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. Yesterday that the PAOK president has rushed to the field with a pistol in his holster after 0-0 and a few minutes to the end in the AEK derby, the referees canceled a goal for PAOK because of an offside.

This caused the wild reaction of both Savidis and the fans of the Thessaloniki team. Because of the incident on the pitch, the game was halted shortly before its end, and AEK players left the pitch early. Savidis urged his footballers to do the same as a protest against the head referee's decision, but team captain Vierinha refused and his teammates stayed on the pitch.

Subsequently, AEK accused the PAOK president of having threatened the referee, Giorgos Cominos, when he entered the field, carrying a pistol in his holster. Threats to the referee were also from the sports director of the Thessaloniki club Lyubos Michel, who used the phrase "you're done."
