Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and Kurdish-defending Democratic People's Party (NPD) exchanged blows during talks on a Turkish-run operation in the northwest Syrian Afrin region, reported Turkish edition Hurryiet. Fighting occurred after MP Mahmuth Torgul quoted a report by Amnesty International on the victims of the peaceful population as a result of the operation and called for it to be stopped.
"With the continuation of the operation, the victims of the peaceful population are increasing," Torgul said. Subsequently, several MPs in the AKP accused Torgul of being a "spokesman for the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK)," and AKP deputy leader Leila Shahim Usta launched the fist fight.
