Ruling Due on Removal of Plovdiv Mayor

The Plovdiv Court of Appeals will sit on Tuesday to rule on the appeal of Ivan Totev, the Mayor of Plovdiv who was suspended last week.

Totev is charged with two counts of abuse of office.

The removal was demanded by the prosecution as it insisted he could pressure some of the witnesses, who are his subordinates, into changing testimony if he remains in office.
