Colonel Appointed as Bulgarian President's Chief Secretary

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has appointed Air Force Col Dimitar Stoyanov has been appointed as his Chief Secretary, the presidency's website shows.

By signing his first decrees on Monday, a day after officially assuming office, Radev has given initial shape to his team. The list contains only one member of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), who will work with Vice President Iliana Iotova.  

Ivo Hristov, a journalist, has become the head of state's Chief of Staff.

Prof Emiliya Drumeva, a former judge with the Constitutional Court, will be President Radev's Legal Affairs secretary, while Nevyanka Kaneva is the name of his adviser in the same area.

Atanas Krastin will be his foreign policy secretary.

On economy and investment, he will be advised by Iliya Hristozov.

Nikolay Koprinkov, the former mayor of the village of Trud in Southern Bulgaria, will advise Radev on foreign policy and civil society.

As many as 12 people are part of Radev's team.
