Outgoing Bulgarian Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova has said the government received information about "three or four foreign nationals in the country" preparing a terrorist attack.

The data was received through diplomatic means, she has added in response to reporters, quoted by bTV station.

Her comments were in a reference to reports in British media outlets about a possible "revenge" after the riots in Harmanli reception center at the end of November.

Bachvarova has also fended off claims the government is working to build "refugee centers", as Vice President-elect and outgoing MEP Iliana Iotova argued earlier on Monday the cabinet had agreed to take the step in return for financial assistance.

Instead of building centers, authorities are to set up three "crisis fields" next to the border with Turkey, in line with plans announced earlier in November.

The facilities will operate under a regime of restricted movement and will be administered by the State Agency for Refugees (DAB), Bachvarova has added.

She has dismissed Iotova's claim that Sofia will get less than the EUR 160 M allegedly bargained by outgoing Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, saying the entire amount will come, but in chunks.
