EU Foreign Ministers To Discuss US Election Outcome on Sunday

The Foreign Ministers of the European Union will hold talks at a special meeting on Sunday in order to evaluate the election outcome in the USA.

Before the meeting, the ministers of the 28 member-states plan to meet Federica Mogherini High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in order to discuss the surprise election of Donald Trump and what this would mean for the trans-Atlantic relations between the two leading economies in the world.

Before the final US election results, European leaders were apprehensive about Trump leading the USA on the road to isolationism and introducing a protectionist economic policy thus undermining the cornerstones of trans-Atlantic co-operation.

EU representatives commented to the Market News International agency that a common position is needed with respect to the election results.
