Road haulage workers are protesting on Monday morning against what they describe as "inhumane conditions" conditions of waiting for hours to cross out of the country.

Truck drivers argue they have recently be waiting for 40 to 50 hours to cross.

The situation, which has been accompanied with no explanation from state institutions, also brings hundreds of thousands of BGN in losses to the Bulgarian Economy, according to the Bulgarian Association for Freight Forwarding Transport and Logistics (NSBS).

Protests have been planned for six border crossing points.

These include Kapitan Adreevo and Lesovo on the border with Turkey, Kulata (Greece), Kalotina (Serbia) and the two Danube bridges to Romania, near the cities of Ruse and Vidin.

It is not clear whether traffic will be sealed off as a result.
