The Slovakian rotating presidency of the European Council has called an emergency meeting in Brussels of the representatives of European countries after Belgium declared the agreement of Wallonia to support the CETA treaty.
The main focus of the emergency meeting will be the agreement reached between Belgian leaders and the Belgian Walloon region, which, so far, opposed CETA, insisting on greater guarantees for the maintenance of standards in areas like the environment, agriculture and the rights of European workers and consumers.
