Turkey Threatens To Cease Stopping Migrants If EU Delays Visa-Free Regime

Turkey will cease to limit the access of migrants to the borders of the EU if Turkish citizens are not granted the right to travel visa-free in the EU by the end of the year, threatened again the Turkish Minister for European Union Affairs ?mer ?elik.

The EU and Turkey have an agreement for the liberalisation of the visa regime and the readmission of migrants, but in order for the agreement to enter into force, the EU insists that Turkey change its anti-terrorism laws.

Ankara, on its part, threatens to cease stopping migrants en route to Western countries.

The Turkish President Recep Erdogan warned that at least one million refugees from Aleppo might enter the country.
