More than half of Bulgarians between 15 and 29 years of age live in inferior living conditions, showed an analysis of Eurostat, cited by BTA.

Living conditions in the 28 member-states of the EU were examined for 2015. European standards require that every European above the age of 15 have a room of his/her own. Youths from Belgium, Holland and Finland are most favoured in terms of living conditions, stated Eurostat. The worst living conditions were reported for youths in Romania.

According to the National Statistical Institute one-seventh of Bulgarians are between 15 and 29 years of age. Statistics show that, in 2015, Bulgarian households had 3.9 million homes and over one-third of those are three-room flats.

Bulgaria’s population is 7.2 million.
