The British government has requested that foreign professors be suspended from participation in the Brexit project assigned to the London School of Economics, announced a speaker of the university.

Professors and researchers from the school advise the British Economy Minister on possible scenarios after the British voted to leave the EU in a referendum on June 23.

The Foreign Office, however, informed the prestigious university that it no longer wishes to work on the project with foreign professors. The argument is that this is being done for security reasons.

“Some of our experts who have contributed to the project will no longer be able to do so because they do not have British citizenship,” announced a speaker of the London School of Economics. The school expressed the opinion that all their professors, both British and foreign, possess extremely valuable knowledge which will be of vital importance in this period of uncertainty concerning the future of the relations between Great Britain, Europe and the rest of the world.

On Sunday, British Prime Minister Theresa May announced that she will activate article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty by the end of March 2017, which allow the UK to leave the EU at the beginning of 2019.
