Bulgarian President: Bulgaria Will Work On Strengthening Economic, Cultural Exchange With Saudi Arabia

Bulgaria has at its disposal excellent conditions for the development of all kinds of tourism – seaside, mountain, cultural, spa and rehabilitation tourism, and needs strong partners in order to fulfill its huge potential in this strategic sector, stated President Rossen Plevneliev at a meeting with the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Commission for Tourism and National Heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia His Royal Highness Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

The Bulgarian Head of State confirmed the determination of our country to attract more investments in the fast-growing sectors of tourism, innovative technologies and the automobile industry, and pointed out the competitive advantages of Bulgaria in Southeastern Europe – its strategic location, the low level of government debt, conservative fiscal policy, qualified cadres.

“Bulgarian society is an example, not only on the Balkans but in Europe as well, of peaceful and tolerant co-existence of different religious groups,” added Plevneliev.

Bulgaria and the countries in Southeastern Europe have great natural assets and rich cultural heritage, and Saudi Arabia is prepared to strengthen co-operation and increase its investments in tourism and the economy, said His Royal Highness Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

During the meeting, President Plevneliev emphasised the huge possibilities of implementing joint projects in the energy field and agriculture, and pointed out the option for investors to benefit from financing under European programmes.
