TIR trucks have formed a huge queue at Kapitan Andreevo border crossing, on the Turkish side, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) reports.

Due to a problem on the Bulgarian side of the border, trucks can be seen waiting to cross into the country from the crossing back to the city of Edirne.

Passage through the border crossing has become harder since Friday, when several border police officers working there were detained over corruption allegations.

Staff shortage caused by the development has resulted in trucks not being inspected at all at Kapitan Andreevo, BTA quotes Turkish media as saying.

Trouble for TIR vehicles is also reported at Hamzabeyli-Lesovo border point, the other crossing with Bulgaria, where the queue was 15 km long as of Monday morning.
