Bulgarian UN Secretary General Nominee Bokova Remains Sixth After Straw Poll

Bulgaria’s nominee for Secretary General of the UN, Irina Bokova, remained 6^th after the straw poll of the Security Council on Monday.

Bokova received a result of 6 (encourage) -7 (discourage) -3 (no opinion)by the 15 members of the Security Council.

The Portuguese candidate Antonio Guterres ranked 1^st again with a score of 12-2-1.

Earlier in September, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said Bokova would remain the country's official candidate to take over from Ban Ki-moon until September 26, but set the condition that she should be at least one of the two nominees with top results.
