Citizen Deposits in Banks Grow by 6.9% Year-on-Year in August 2016

At the end of August, 2016, the deposits of the non-governmental sector were BGN 66.426 B (74.7% of GDP), registering an increase of 9.6% year-on-year, announced BNB, cited by BTA.

The deposits of households and deposits of Households and Non-commercial organisations servicing households were BGN 43.732 B (49.2% of GDP) at the end of August, 2016, marking growth of 6.9% year-on-year.

Deposits of non-financial enterprises were BGN 18.832 B (21.2% of GDP) at the end of August, 2016, growing by 12.8% year-on-year.

Deposits of financial enterprises grew by 29.9% year-on-year in August, 2016, reaching BGN 3.863 B (4.3% of GDP.)

At the end of August, credits to the non-governmental sector were BGN 50.255 B (56.5% of GDP), compared to BGN 50.1899 B in July, 2016. In August, 2016, these grew by 0.1% year-on-year.
Credits to households at the end of August were BGN 18.331 B (20.6 of GDP), registering an increase of 0.1% year-on-year.
At the end of August, 2016, housing credits were BGN 8.750 B, rising 0.8% year-on-year. Consumer credits were BGN 7.310 B, decreasing by 0.7%, compared to August 2015.
