Deadline for Registration for Participation in Presidential Elections Ends

The deadline for the submitting of documents for the registration of parties, coalitions and initiative committees with the Central Election Commission for participation in the presidential elections on November 6 has ended.

A total of 12 parties and 5 coalitions registered for participation. The documents of the Movement for Democratic Action arrived at 16:57 hrs and are still being processed.

A total of seven committees registered but one of these was rejected. The deadline for the registration of initiative committees ends on September 26.

The Central Election Commission reminded that some of the registered participants may be suspended if there is no sufficient number of signatures.

The nominees for President and Vice President will be registered later – from September 19 until 16:00 hrs on October 4.
