Plovdiv Appellate Court Releases Perushtitsa Mayor Minchev On BGN 10,000 Bail

The Mayor of Perushtitsa Radi Minchev was released on Tuesday on bail of BGN 10,000 imposed by the Plovdiv Appellate Court.

The ruling of the Appellate Court is final and may not be appealed.

This unexpected development followed the decision of the Appellate judge Veselin Ganev that there is no real danger of the indicted persons committing another crime and that there is no real risk of them going into hiding.

According to the appellate magistrates, however, there is a reasonable assumption that the indicted persons have committed the crimes for which they have been indicted. The Court rejected as unfounded the private protest submitted by the Prosecutor’s Office.
