Prime Minister Boyko Borissov had telephone conversations with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Serbian Prime Minister Alexandar Vucic.

His discussion with Merkel centred on the preparation of the meeting of state and government leaders of member-states in Bratislava on October 16. The main topic of the upcoming meeting will be the migrant crisis in Europe and the need to find a unified European solution.

The EU and Turkey must solve their problems together and all countries must make a unified effort to fulfill the agreements and obligations undertaken so far, emphasised Borissov in his conversation with the Chancellor.

Borissov and Orban agreed that discussions must be held in Bratislava focusing on the state of the EU given Brexit and the pressing migrant wave.

Borissov confirmed that he will insist on a pan-European solution and a show of real solidarity among the countries of Europe in order to deal with the migrant wave and provide adequate security of the external European borders.

At the invitation of Borissov, Orban will arrive on an official visit to Bulgaria on September 13 and 14. The two of them will see a part of the fence at the Bulgarian-Turkish border.

The migrant crisis was also discussed with Serbian Prime Minister Alexandar Vucic. The two of them agreed on the need to strengthen bilateral communication and cooperation in order to maintain security and stability in both countries.

During the conversation, Borissov and Vucic talked about the possibility of bilateral cooperation in the energy field and the construction of an interconnector link between Serbia and Bulgaria.
