Supermarket Blast Leaves 1 Heavily Injured in Bulgaria's Pleven

The owner of a supermarket in Pleven, north central Bulgaria, has been seriously wounded in an explosion, local media say.

The incident was reportedly caused by a technical failure.

Doctors have told Focus News Agency the man has sustained deep burns on the head and respiratory system.

Private NOVA TV station said electricity supply was cut throughout Pleven following the incident.

Both the supermarket and a restaurant located on the floor above are destroyed.

It took firefighters 30 minutes to put out the flames.

The area remained sealed off for much of Tuesday morning.
