Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov to Face Andy Murray in US Open 1/8 Final

Bulgaria’s highest ranking male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov proceeded to the 1/8 finals of the US Open.

In a match from the third round played on Saturday, Dimitrov defeated Joao Sousa from Portugal with 6:4, 6:1, 3:6, 6:2.

Thus the Bulgarian recorded his second victory in their third encounter with Sousa and reached the fourth round of the US Open for the second time in his career. In 2014, he was defeated at this stage of the tournament by Gael Monfils from France.

In the 1/8 finals, Dimitrov will play against the reigning Olympic champion Andy Murray from the UK, who defeated Italy’s Paolo Lorenzi with 7:6 (4), 5:7, 6:2, 6:3.
