Investment Funds’ Assets in Bulgaria Drop 0.8% Y/Y as of End-June 2016

The assets managed by resident and non-resident investment funds operating in Bulgaria totalled BGN 2.24 B as of end-June 2016, decreasing by 0.8% year-on-year, the country’s central bank BNB has announced.

Compared with the end of March 2016, the assets managed by resident and non-resident investment funds have decreased by 6.3%.

The assets of resident and non-resident investment funds operating in Bulgaria were equivalent to 2.5% of 2016 GDP forecast by the BNB. This compared with a ratio of 2.6% of GDP in June 2015 and 2.7% in March 2016.

The assets of resident investment funds totalled BGN 860 M as of end-June 2016, increasing by 1.4% year-on-year and by 7.5% from end-March 2016.

Non-resident investment funds’ liabilities to residents totalled BGN 1.38 B as of end June 2016, growing by 0.4% year-on-year. Compared with end-March 2016, non-resident investment funds’ liabilities to residents have decreased by 13.2%, the BNB said.
