Two companies will invest a total of BGN 5.47 M (EUR 2.8 M) in the construction of warehouse and logistics facilities in Bulgaria’s state-run Bozhurishte Industrial Zone, on the western outskirts of Sofia.

Economy Minister Bozhidar Lukarski awarded investment certificates to VAK Invest OOD and Dreams Trans EOOD on Monday, the Economy Ministry said in a statement. The investment certificates grant the companies faster administrative services as well as property ownership under certain conditions.

The new investment “not only consolidates the position of Bulgaria as a favorable investment destination in the field of logistics, but also the key role of industrial zones for attracting domestic and foreign investments," Lukarski said at the certificates awarding ceremony, according to the statement.

Dreams Trans’ investment project worth BGN 3.86 M provides for the construction of warehouses on an area of five hectares. The company also plans to invest BGN 100 M and create 1,000 jobs over the next five years.

The project of VAK Invest OOD is worth BGN 1.61 M. The company will build two warehouses with the adjacent infrastructure in Bozhurishte Industrial Zone.

Bulgaria has awarded certificates to projects worth a total of BGN 179.5 M under its Investment Promotion Act this year. The investors plan to open almost 2,200 new jobs under those projects.
