Bulgaria's Deputy PM Donchev to Oversee Presidential Vote

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev, who is in charge of economic policy and EU funds absorption, has also been tasked with coordinating thee preparation for this year's presidential vote.

He will also oversee the preparation for the referendum that will be held simultaneously, the government has decided.

Other ministries will also have certain obligations, with the Finance Ministry due to submit projected expenditures. The Regional Development Ministry will be in charge of preparing and publishing the electoral rolls, while Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov will work on the organization of the vote and the national poll abroad.

Presidential elections are due on November 06.

A referendum will also be held which initially contained six points about Bulgaria's political system, but half of them were removed by the Constitutional Court last week.
