Boy Found Alive After Spending Five Days in Forest Near Bulgaria's Ruse

The three-year-old boy who got lost in a forest between the villages of Smirnenski and Tetovo in the region of Ruse on Monday has been found alive on Friday afternoon.

Dimo was found dehydrated and exhausted in a wheat field near the village of Tetovo after field workers had heard a child's cry coming from the bushes not far away from a woody area.

An ambulance took the boy for examination to the nearest hospital. He is in relatively good condition and there is no threat for his life.

The search operation lasted for five days, with tens of volunteers, foresters, police officers, firefighters taking part. They even used thermographic camera and a special device detecting pulse.

The boy went missing after the parents had asked the grandfather to take care of him while they were picking linden blossom.

Dimo was one of the two children who got lost in two different parts of Bulgaria on Monday.

A nine-year-old boy went missing in the forest between the villages of Bogdan and Stoletovo in the municipality of Karlovo after he had gone out with his mother to take the goats for pasture.

Stanimir was found safe and sound on Thursday, in the bushes eight kilometres away from his village.
