Starting from July 1, a total of 500 officials from different institutions will conduct inspections at resorts along Bulgaria's northern Black Sea coast.

Joint inspections will be conducted by the National Revenue Agency (NAP), the interior ministry, the customs agency, the Commission for Consumer Protection as well as other bodies monitoring compliance with tax-insurance legislation.

This was announced by the director of NAP in Varna, Milena Koleva, at a working meeting with representatives of the tourist sector on Monday, daily Dnevnik informs.

Throughout the campaign, officials will be posted to the Black Sea coast from other parts of the country. The inspections will be conducted at all times of the day, including during the weekend.

The inspections will be carried out through the use of secret shoppers, control purchases and monitoring establishments with large turnover.

During the season, the checks will focus on whether the actual revenues are being declared as well as for the issue of receipts.

Places providing accommodation, tourist attractions, services, merchants and currency exchange offices will be subject to inspections.
