Bulgarian FM Holds Farewell Meeting with Romanian Ambassador

On Monday Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov held a farewell meeting with Romanian extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to Sofia, His Excellency Anton Pacuretu, whose term as ambassador is coming to an end soon.

The exceptionally intensive partnership and cooperation in all areas of bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Romania was in the focus of the meeting between Mitov and Pacuretu.

Both expressed satisfaction of the exceptionally intensive political dialogue between the two neighbouring countries and they identified the partnership between Bulgaria and Romania as a model for the region.

Mitov and Pacuretu noted that the forthcoming two-day visit of Romanian President Klaus Iohannis to Bulgaria on Wednesday and Thursday will further contribute to building and consolidating the strategic partnership.

At the same time, they pointed to the need of enhancing the recently established quadrilateral format of cooperation between Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Croatia in order to make the voice of the region heard.

Mitov and Pacuretu also noted the excellent partnership within the frameworks of the EU and NATO as well as in all other international organisations, declaring their will to further develop and deepen it.

Together with the excellent Bulgarian-Romanian political relations, they also pointed to the good level of economic ties, increase in tourism cooperation and active trans-border cooperation.
