A large-scale search has entered a second day on Friday for EgyptAir Flight MS804 that vanished over the Mediterranean with 66 passengers and crew on board.

The Airbus A320, en route from Paris to Cairo, disappeared from Greek radar shortly after leaving the Greek airspace early on Thursday.

Egyptian, Greek, French and UK military units are taking part in the search operation near Greece's Karpathos island where wreckage of the missing Flight MS804 had reportedly been found. The United States have  deployed surveillance aircraft in the area.

However, reports that the plane's wreckage had been dicovered turned out to be wrong.

EgyptAir's Vice Chairman Ahmed Adel told CNN that when searchers got close to debris found in the Mediterranean they realized it didn't come from the missing Airbus A320.

According to the Egyptian civil aviation authorities, a terrorist attack or a technical failure might have brought down the aircraft.
